Finally getting started with the photos (Photos)

At last, I am making a start of what hopefully will be a flood of posts! I hadn't realised how little down-time there would be to do housekeeping stuff, let alone getting photos ready for publication. I'm guessing that the photos will keep getting posted after we are home.

I am still getting to grips with the photo stitching software and how to frame the scenes so it will work well. As a result some of the very wide angle shots will have obvious flaws. Even with the flaws I feel the view intended is still there.

A couple of trains that would be at home in an old sci-fi movie shuttling people around San Francisco International Airport.

The distant hills reminded me of Auckland. The Freeways reminded me I was in the Land of the Automobile.

Temple, Assembly Hall spires.
The seagulls on the roof are sculptures on a tram shelter.
Each stop has a different theme depending on where it is.

In the mountains behind Salt Lake City I spotted this on a side road. There is some well known history here.

This is part of Parley's Canyon, where the trails went through.

A picture perfect settlement at Parley's summit. Cold, but beautiful.

There were plenty of these to be seen everywhere we went. This was one of the largest sizes.

Utah has truckloads of chemical weapons of mass destruction stockpiled in various locations in the State. It's good to know there are safe places to go in case of an accident!

Looking across to the Great Salt Lake from the top of the Church Office Building.

An example of how wide some city streets are. Most of them have been like that since settlement.

The I-80 freeway is in the distance.
